The New 2020 Chevrolet Corvette

Finally, the long-awaited and most-anticipated mid-engine Corvette is here. At last, we’ve gotten what we craved for decades back; interestingly, Chevrolet’s latest corvette didn’t disappoint. The new 2020 Chevrolet Corvette is an incredibly fast, mid-engine, full-sized car. It’s an engineering masterpiece with an elegant and clean design that anyone would make anyone marvel at a glance. There are reasons this newest flagship sports car is highlighted as Chevy’s most innovative car of the decade; its sophisticated design, brilliant efficiency/handling and brims of new characters - all tags it as the genesis of another era in the American’s sports car. The C8 Stingray marks a newer chapter, with its first-ever retractable two-piece hardtop convertible that integrates seamlessly into the overall build while maintaining the vehicle’s performance. If you want to add this luxury sports car to your garage, a corvette Lease is your best shot.

Engine and Transmission

With polarizing style, premium interior, and stupendous supercar-level performance, you’d expect the Chevy Corvette to deliver maximum power. Yes, it does. C8 Corvette is equipped with 490 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque powered by a large 6.2-liter V8 engine. However, there’s one notable change. Unlike the C7 Corvette models, there is no more manual transmission as it is automated – eight-speed dual-clutch. And if you think the power is not enough, you might consider raising the bar with the Z51 package to supply 495 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. Superfast!

Handling and Performance

While the C8 Stingray still retains the 6.2-liter V8 engine as the C7 Stingray, Chevy's engineers made a complete overhaul for the new mill. Even with the mid-engine, the C8 still offers balance and incredible performance. Without the Z51 Package, the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette hits 60 miles per hour in 3 seconds and covers the quarter-mile in 11.2 seconds at 123 mph (198 kph). This is aided by its quick-shifting eight-speed dual-clutch automatic and a well-calibrated launch-control system that promotes smooth handling.

Interior

Looking at the interior, the new Corvette looks totally revamped compared to its predecessors. First, the new Chevrolet Corvette houses its engine behind the passenger compartment instead of its traditional front-engine design – something we’ve never seen before. With this new configuration, the cabin settles a little closer to the Corvette’s nose just to make it extremely driver-oriented. The 2020 Chevy Corvette comes in six different interior themes: Adrenaline Red, Sky Cool Gray, Jet Black, Natural/Natural Dipped, Morello Red, and Two-Tone Blue that are perfectly lined in materials such as leather, imitation suede, and real metal and an Alcantara headliner all of which creates an entire new look than what Chevrolet has previously designed.

Although the Chevrolet Corvette C8 is the eighth generation of the Corvette sports car, it retains some premium elements found on the C7. You’ll still find a removable roof panel and actual, usable cargo capacity, carbon-fiber bits, as well as an aluminum trim, among others. Yet, significant upgrades have made the whole interior look plush.

Storage

In terms of storage, the two seating capacity Chevy has a surprising amount of cargo space enough to fit two golf bags or the removable roof panel. Meanwhile, there’s an all-new front cargo area that is large enough to carry an airline-size overhead bag.

Safety

The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette comes with a wide array of Driver Assistance technology like a head-up display, rearview camera mirror, cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert, and blind-spot monitoring that guarantee a more confident ride. However, as at the time of writing this post, the new Chevy has not been crash-tested by the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) or NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration).

For a supercar, the C8 Corvette is the most luxurious Corvette we've seen. It is the future of luxury sports cars and what’s more, it offers a remarkable price tag. But even with that price, you can grab the best Chevy Corvette lease bargain on Ice Auto Group.
